<< I actually find this linking of Olympus and Kodak rather disquieting.
The Kodak name has been synonymous with cheap, execrable quality,
disposable photo toys for 50 years. The name on any camera of any
quality at all has meant the kiss of death in the market. Poor Oly.
I hope it is around in 5 years. >>
While, in a way, I can see your point and even (somewhat) agree, Kodak has
been, and is, very strong in digital imaging technology. The rumored
"Olydak" is an Olympus digital camera system that uses Kodak's latest sensor
technology.
The Kodak name also is synonymous with film many here love (I'm a Fuji
Provia F user so not me...), processing equipment, dyesub printers, and
paper. FWIW, The hybrid Kodak/Nik*n DSLRs set a standard in field use
digital photography (for a very steep price) prior to any Nik*n or Can*n
DSLR offerings whatsoever.
