I wouldn't waste my time with 400 film - unless I wanted grainy pics for
"effect". I might use 200 for poor light or casual snaps while say in that
open top bus "on the move". Other than that I would stick with 100 ASA and
under.
I generally have found that careful use of 50 ASA film (Fuji Velvia slide or
Konica Impresa color print being current great examples) produces great
results. But 100 is fine for general purposes, and Fuji Reala color print is
another good current example.
But Kew Gardens and Fuji Velvia 50 (OR Konica Impresa 50) sound like a great
combination. Just use a light tripod - mirror lock and timer - and bracket a
half stop each way if in doubt.
Cheers,
Lee

oh nono, i wasn't planning on going to manchester or scotland! since i'm
going mainly to accompany grandmother, we'll be going to my aunt's place
(gran's daughter) in surrey or whatever that palce is
called). the open top bus ride sounds good, and from the photo.net london
article the river seems a nice place. not sure what the kew gardens will
hold in store, which will determine if i take the 50
macro along.
Chris, ya the digicam has it's own set of rules! battery being the first
killer, storage the second; OM1n with 28 3.5 and a grip of film sounds good.
Film choise, again i'm staying away from 20. either
100 or 400 should do nicely, so which will it be? should i spend the money
on NPx or get a boxload of superia 400 for quarter of the price and shoot 4x
more? will let ya'lls know details as the ETA comes
closer! should be fun :)
