In english, it's spelled "Maitani", which is how Mr. Maitani signs his name in
english.  My name is "Rumbo", and I could sign my name in Japanese (the
phonetic symbols for "rum" and "bow") -- but it wouldn't do any good.  The
check would bounce!  ;^)
