There is something going on with my trusty OM2n that I
clearly do not understand. So the story so far.
Several months ago I went to take pictures of this Live
Oak near where I live that is flood lit at night. The
way the light works over this tree is very interesting,
and I thought I would try to take some pictures.
One thing I made sure to do was bracket via the exposure
compensation nob on the body. Soemthing else I was
doing, and which I realize belatedly was silly was using
the auto mode.
So I would take a picture. It would take however many
seconds. And then I would compensate and would take
longer or shorter depending on which way I turned the
knob.
And ALL the pictures looked to have the exact same
exposure.
After thinking about this for a while I decided it was
the auto mode doing what it was supposed to do, and
kicked myself.
So then later, I am trying to take pictures of a wooded
path. Agin the whole point of the shot is the
interesting lighting, so I play with the exposure
compensation again to bracket. This time I make sure I
am in manual. (As it was daylight there wasn't a need
for long term auto exposure anyway.) Once again the
shots all turned out to have the same exposure.
I thought about this awhile and decided that it might
have something to do with using print film instead of
slides. Possibly the latitude of the film used and/or
the lab I was having it developed in was affecting the
exposure.
So I get slide film. Kodak Elite Chrome 200. I once
again go to the wooded path scene and try exposure
control, and await on pins and needles the results. Once
again there is little or no difference.
I am now clueless.
Does anyone know what is going on?
Thanks!
