I got to see the Cologne Dom last year, and it is *very* impressive. It did
take a while to build, if I remember. And also fortunate to have survived
WWII (although there was some damage). Now, where are those pictures again?

Honestly, your perfectly right. The further you travel back in time the more
intriguing the buildings/constructions get.
I sometimes wonder if the Cologne Dom was built by humans. Nearly 160 meters
high, thousands of tons of stone and they built it without electrical energy
or engines.
