In a word, nothing.
When the OM-10 was introduced, the Manual Adapter was an optional
accessory. Later, to combat "grey market" imports, Olympus/US began to
package the OM-10 with the Manual Adapter (and a little red, white and
blue sticker on the body), calling it the "Full Control" OM-10.
At the same time, they increased the price of the separate Manual
Adapter to $50-$60 so that anyone buying a "grey market" OM-10 would
have to buy the "FC" Manual Adapter (at the inflated price) to have the
same capabilities. Of course, most OM-10 users have little or no need
for manual speeds, so that was a big flop.
At the same time, to cut expenses, Olympus/US also discontinued it's
exclusive "Two-Year Warranty" on OM System products (including the
problem-prone OM-10), thus removing the only real benefit of buying a
camera they imported as opposed to a "grey market" one -- duh!
