It depends on if your camera is still configured to use the PX625 Mercury
battery or not. Some OM-1's were converted to use Silver Oxide batteries
(like the OM-2,3,4) by soldering a diode in series with the battery circuit.
Chances are, though, that you you have an OM-1n that still needs a 1.35v
PX625. This is no longer made and you will have to either use a Wein
Zinc-air cell (see your local pro shop) or look at other options such as an
MR9 bettery adaptor (see John H. at Camtech) or the aforementioned circuit
modification.

i think its about time i changed the battery in my OM-1n as the light meter
is acting suspiciously. what kind of battery do i need and where can i find
it?
also, is it ok to open the battery space while film is loaded?
