Hmm...much as I would love to see Tom in Paris, I just came to
think......down south of France there are a number of nice places
too. Very nice places, even, and the climate is quite nice.
Go touristic, and aim for Nice. It is - well - nice :) It's also touristic
and warm and filled with retired brits. At least, that's what the
parisians use to say. I was there last year, and I enjoyed it immensely.
Of course, I did pick up a car, pack a couple of zuiks (85/2 and 24/2), an
OM2s/p and a circular polarizer and dowe into the nature nearby. If you
like rocky nature, that is definitely going to get you high :) Another
nice feature of Nice is, that the airport is nearby, working smoothly (the
only airport I would say that about...) and with lots of departures to
pretty much everywhere :) Nice has this southern style of buildings and
with very warm colors. Pick a pol-filter and either K25 or an Ektachrome
100SW, and it will be spectacular :)
Also, in the south of france, I can reccomend Cahors - http://www.cahors.net/
I am not sure how to get there easilly (I went to Toulouse by air, then
by car), but it is definitely pretty also. A bit different, but nice. For
some odd reason, I do not have any photos from there, though.....gotta go
back sometime.
I think, honestly, that if I had a couple of days in between a hard work
in London and another hard flight to <somewhere I forgot>, then I would
pick Nice. It offers a convenient amount of experiences in not too much
space and easy access to meditative nature.
Tom, should you end up in France, then let me know in any case. I may be
able to provide some local info or something.
