Hi folks,
All I can suggest at the moment is be careful.
My ISP screens out all files with dangerous attachments and I have to go
there with an individual code if I REALLY want to download that file. THey
shove tham all in a dedicated virus vault and delete after about 5 days.
The latest crop of viruses also hunt down and disable the anti-virus programs
you have on your machine. As well as doing a heap of damage.
Outlook and outlook express seem to be favourite hosts.
I use Pegasus mailer, and this has a feature that I use to examine the
headers of mail while it is still on the ISP server. Those that look
suspicious,
even from friends, I either leave there and ask if they DID send me a mail, or
I
delete on the spot, so they don't come anywhere near my machine.. Spam
gets the same treatment too ;-)
Over the last 2 weeks I seem to be the target of 6 - 10 virus messages a
day, so I'm being more conservative than usual. I have not recognised ANY of
the supposed senders.
