I had received entries from three brave souls who tackled the challenge:
Roger Wesson
Ken Norton
Wayne Culberson
I attempted this myself after making a copy of the master list Olafo sent
me with the image numbers stripped out. It's much more difficult than it
first seems! I could get many down to a short list of two or three, but
had a tough time getting past the ambiguities. All three of the entries
scored better than I did. Some interesting facts about the entries:
3 photos/names were correctly paired by all 3 entries:
Chung Seow Lim, C.H. Ling, Giles Stewart
6 photos/names were correctly paired by exactly 2 entries.
Ken Norton, Juan Pachon, Tom Scales,
Brian Swale, Hans van Veluwen, Joel Wilcox
18 photos/names were correctly paired by exactly 1 entry.
39 photos/names were not correctly paired by any entry.
(3 + 6 + 18 + 39 = 66)
3 entries correctly paired their own photo/name ;-)
And the winner is . . .
[Drum Roll]
[More Drum Roll]
[Louder Drum Roll]
[Very Loud Drum Roll]
[Deafening Drum Roll]
[Ear-Splitting Cymbal Crash]
Roger Wesson, who correctly paired 19 of the TOPE 9 photographs with their
photographers.
Wayne Culberson correctly paired 11 of them.
Ken Norton correctly paired 9 of them.
Thanks again to the three who participated. Since there were only three
entries with obviously much thought and effort poured into them, there will
be a consolation prize for the other two. :-)
