Truly awesome. It's where I learned that outer space has true (and vast!) depth. Those aren't just little dots of light on an inverted bowl. :-) I wondered that about cruise ships. They've always been lit up like Christmas trees when I've seen them at sea. A shame really, because there's so much "added value" they could give passengers if they were not. --- Scott Gomez -----Original Message----- From: Winsor Crosby [mailto:wincros@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Subject: RE: [OM] planets, green, film, bracketing That must be awesome in the true sense of the word. A big disappointment of my South American trip was the inability to get away from the ship's lights at night. Could not see much of the milky way even shielding my eyes and leaning over the rail, but was able to see the Southern Cross. -- Winsor Crosby Long Beach, California < This message was delivered via the Olympus Mailing List > < For questions, mailto:owner-olympus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > < Web Page: http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright/olympuslist.html > |
