The English, of course, don't mind at all if 'British' and 'English' are
confused by foreigners, but I'd advise anyone travelling to the other
parts of the United Kingdom to be very careful not to make this
mistake! To call a Scotsman English is perhaps the direst insult you
can make north of the border.
