I used a 300 mm while in Alaska last year (actually it was a Tamron 60-300mm) 
and I had wished I had something a little longer for some of it and little 
shorter for others.  This will be hand held so that may dictate the focal 
length and film speed.  I used both 800 and 400 color negative film and it 
was drizzling rain. Bill Barber
