Hello all,
I've got an otherwise perfectly looking and functioning OM1 with some
meter problems. I hope someone on the list can help...
When setting the ASA dial at 1600, the shutter at 1s and the apeture of an
50/1.8 at 1.8, I can just about make the viewfinder arrow point into the
"center" of the meter when pointing it at the brightest light-source
I can come across. This is not how my other OM1's work ;(
I tried to pop off the top and see if I could adjust my way out of it (the
adjustments available through the "eccentric" on the top of the
galvanometer). However this was (as I'd almost expected) not possible -
the meter is far too much off.
I've checked for loose electricwires etc., and I am using the correct
battry - even tried with two fresh ones which work in another OM1. However
this doesn't seem to be the problem.
I am suspecting that it might be the cds-cells that are non-functioning,
but there might be other, more probable, things I've overlooked. Anyone
with a hint to share?
It's a beauty of a camera otherwise. Cosmetically perfect and the
shutter-speeds are as right-on as I can possibly wish. So if I could get
the meter to work, it would really be good.
Thanks in advance for any help ;)
