After cleaning off the lens with denatured alcohol, I put a single drop of dish
detergent in a lukewarm glass of distilled water. Then I dampen a new cotton
ball or lens cloth with just a couple of drops of the solution, and give the
lens a final swipe. This usually leaves the lens surface about as clean as I
can get it; cleaner than using the alcohol.
