Brian:

Try the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for denatured alcohol. Go here:

   http://www.coppergreen.com/MSDS_Denatured_Alcohol.htm

In general, the use of the term "denaturing" tends to mean that either some
compound's been added to another compound, or the compound's molecular
geometry's been altered. For example, an ingredient in most toothpastes
(sodium lauryl sulfate or its cousin, sodium laureth sulfate) "denatures" the
proteins in the mucous membranes of your mouth by "flattening" the protein
molecules into an unnatural geometry. This isn't a problem for most people,
but for about 10f the population, it tends to cause canker sores in the mouth
or on the tongue.

Typically, "denatured" alcohol is methyl alcohol (also called "methanol") with
other stuff added. I'd use straight methanol, myself.
