I went and tried to find PX625 batteries locally, unsurprisingly with no
luck.
I _did_ find PX675 batteries; they said 'mercury oxide 1.35v' on the
package, which was rather surprising given I assumed it was the mercury that
had been banned..
As far as I can tell from the archives of the list, there are two
fundamental differences between PX675 and PX625 batteries:
1. size. The PX625s are larger, so I'd need some sort of spacer. This isn't
a big deal, I can make one of these up somehow, I'm sure.
2. capacity; the px625s are larger, so they last longer.
Assuming I _can_ make a size converting ring up, can I use PX675 batteries
instead? (why aren't those ones banned, for that matter?)
thanks,
