This is a wireless standard. How would you like to have your pictures
sent,
right after taking, to a laptop 50 feet away which forwards them on by
cellphone to the newspaper you're working for? Who needs flash memory?

I noticed that too. A friend covering the Detroit International Auto
Show was telling me of the high speed Bluetooth network that extended
throughout the convention hall. Media centers spend a lot of $$$ on
wired, and often slow dialup, connections. Wireless networking simply
makes sense for press cameras and it is a feature that will make the new
Olympus digital SLR appealing...but I have to wonder how long that
functionality will be exclusively Olympus, not long I bet.
