I agree. Let's face it, N*kon has made good cameras in the past. The FM3a
is a superb camera. It feels great and takes excellent pics. That lever
thing Mark mentions is a mess though. As far as focussing screens are
concerned, it only take 2 or 3, so not a big selection. I was tempted to
get rid of my OM stuff before the FM3a was release. Pre-release BS stated
that the FM3a would be a manual revolution. No way. N*kon seems to have a
horrible time of completeing a camera design. Whoever screwed up the lever
is a goof. OM was designed pretty much perfectly. No one can touch it yet.

Subject: Re: [OM] Irony of discontinuing of the OM series
It is amazing how N*kon shot themselves in the foot.
They come up with a wonderful idea and a great camera,
and then go and screw it all up with that eye poking
thing. I have tried the N*kon and it feels great in my
hands, I just can't stand at all that eye poking
winding lever; why oh why in the world would they put
in such a cruddy design flaw? I mean its like you
designing the best car ever and then putting the
accelerator on the passenger side. That and the fact
that it has no spot meter. If N*kon ever can get the
hint that trying to poke out the photographer's eye
with the winding lever is a bad feature and should be
dropped I'd buy into the system, as it stands now OM
has the vast majority of features I want with no
enormous flaws
