Okay. First off, if I had a *broken* OM-PC, I wouldn't pay to have it
repaired. It doesn't make economic sense to pay $125 plus shipping and
insurance to repair a camera worth $100. (This is a condition that other
listers call "BER" for beyond economic repair.)

That is commonly said and makes sense if you are a dealer or just
thinking to unload it. However, think about what you get. Spend
roughly a 100 bucks to buy another camera that may work for a while,
or break immediately, or spend the same amount to get a camera
someone has gone through it thoroughly, made the repair, cleaned it,
lubed, adjusted the light meter and shutter up to specifications, and
maybe even found a problem and fixed it that you were unaware of yet.
I know which camera I would want if I intended to use it.
