Hi all,
I've finally gotten around to scanning in some pictures I took this fall
with my 300/4.5 (silvernose) and my then-newly-fanged 1.4X-A. They were
taken in/near Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. It was elk
mating season, and we had the opportunity to get rather close to a herd
of elk that had invaded the nearby town of Estes Park. Then, we saw
another herd inside the park. The photos are at

The B&W pictures were on Tri-X, and the color were on some generic ASA
200 print film. All pictures were taken with an OM-1n, and were
handheld. The first one was just the 300/4.5, and the rest were with the
1.4X-A. I also threw one in taken with a 21/3.5, also silvernose.
Anyway, I'm very pleased with the 300/4.5 and 1.4X-A combo. The
resulting 420mm f/6.3 is quite managable!
Speaking of silvernoses, I also just found an old Zuiko Interchangable
Lens Group manual, which has the group photo including the 400/4.5 and
300/6.3 (but not the descriptions, though it does mention the 800mm). I
find it interesting that all of the serial #'s of the lenses that are
visible are 100001, but there are no visible M-SYSTEM lenses, so they
must've had to make a whole new set of rings for the photo. Mmmm, look
at all that chrome!
Finally, I was in a local camera store, where they had a user-condition
XA4 with A11 in its original cardboard box. They were asking $230 for
the set. If anyone's interested in it, let me know off list. A while
ago, I also saw a couple of the macro flash attachments for the XA4 (and
A11 I presume) in a not-so-local store which I could pick up for anyone
interested next time I'm there.
