About a week ago I posted a question regarding the eyecup(1, 2) with diopter
correction when used with the OM-4(T(i)). We needed one because my
girlfriend Jan needed more correction to use the viewfinder than the
built-in correction of the OM-4 allowed.
Just thought I'd follow up with a big, "Thanks for the help!" Based on the
info from y'all, we ordered her a new -5 (as marked) diopter Eyecup 2 from
B&H. It seemed that with this correction and the OM-4's viewfinder
adjustment we'd end up placing her required correction right about at the
middle of the OM-4's adjustment range.
I counted clicks to set the OM-4 to the middle of its range and set it
aside. When the Eyecup arrived yesterday, Jan slipped it on the finder,
removed her glasses, took a look and immediately said, "The camera corrects
better than the damn glasses do." Imagine this said in her west Texas accent
to truly appreciate that statement. :-) No additional adjustment was
required.
Based on these results, I made up and posted a web page listing the
correction range (theoretically) available with the various Eyecup lenses
and the OM-4's adjustable viewfinder. Hopefully it'll be helpful to those
also needing to figure the right corrections. You'll find it here:

And please, let me know if the page doesn't work or if I made any serious
errors.
