So that's why my Winder 2 refused to work after poking those...
Another possibility is that the battery tray contacts inside the
winder are not touching properly, or need to be cleaned. The
bottom comes off easily, but watch for cracked screwholes on that
bottom piece. It's a crumple zone, and breaks easier than the
rest of the winder. You'll need a small, high quality philips
screwdriver, and for testing a Volt/ohm meter and 6vdc power
supply. No where near as complicated as removing and replacing
the top of an OM-4T.
