Another purchase just before Christmas was a small outfit consisting of a
leather photo bag with an early OM-2 (ser. 1870xx) with silvernose SC
50/1.8, a silvernose SC 100mm/2.8 with filter and rubber hood in the
original hard case, a Braun bounce flash, and a Shoe 1. The original OM-2
handbook from 1976 and lens data sheets were in a zip pocket.
I was a bit surprised to see a Shoe 1, as I assumed that OM-2's were
supplied with a Shoe 2. However, the handbook only referred to Shoe 1 and
Quick Auto 300, and explained that the camera was equipped to use a future
TTL flash that was ' under development' (Quick Auto 310 of course).
All the equipment was in very good condition, with no obvious signs of foam
rot in the camera, for instance. The seller was selling his deceased
father's equipment. I paid the equivalent of 100USD, which was something
of a bargain considering the condition....
