For filters, I typically use a 72mm for maximum flexibility. I carry step-down rings for 49, 55, and 62mm for my main OM lenses. Alternatively, I use 55's and step down to 49 when necessary.

For ND-Grads, the Cokin P filters are the most flexible. You can get adapter rings up to 82mm and they don't vignette on a 21mm lens.

I would go with the 72, that way you could use it when you get the 18 f3.5.
:) Seriously, the 55 might not be enough, but with the 72 you should be
fine. In fact I would guess with the 72 you could probably stack a thin
filter and a thin polarizer.
