I have a confession to make. I did not sell the 80/4. I think at
the time I probably said that I was thinking of selling it. I
decided not to because it does go to 1:1 and has greater
magnification.
I think from my test shots, that Joel referred to, that the 80/4
possibly has a bit higher resolution than the 90/2, however, the 90/2
has nicer bokeh, is more versatile and usable and is easier to focus
because of the brighter viewfinder image.
If there is much interest, I could put up the comparison shots
between the 80/4 and 90/2 again.
Giles
There is nothing like the 135/4. The 90/2 is available to go head
to head with the 80/4. Giles Stewart once posted photos of the same
scene shot with 80 and 90. The 90/2 version looked positively
three-dimensional in comparison to the 80/4. I noted that Giles
offered up his 80/4 for sale shortly thereafter. So I wouldn't be
as interested in the 80 if I could have the 90.
Whereas there is nothing like the 135/4, so that's what I'd like to
have between the two.
