<< Hi,
I can have two zoom lenses pretty cheap.
They both cover about the same range, and I only need one, question then is :
which one ? They are not Zuikos, otherwise, I could find the info on the
esif.
One is a Tokina SZ-X SD 28-105mm 1:4-5.3.
The other is a Tamron zoom macro 1:2.8~3.5 f=35~80mm BBAR MULTI C. >>SNIP>>
Hi Wim, I can only comment on the Tamron lens. In my experience that lens is
actually more usefull than the Zuiko 35-70 /f3.6. It is about the same
size/weight and is much handier because of the close-focusing capabilities.
It will close focus to 1:2.5 at the 80mm end, and if you add the Tamron 2x
converter it will focus to 1:1.25 at 160mm., (nice to have this capability
built into the lens). I have never done any detailed picture comparisons
between it and the Zuiko lens, but when I grab a zoom in that range, the
Tamron is the one that goes on the camera, (and I do have a mint Zuiko
35-70/f3.6 also).
