Sure, but that assumes I can get another t20 connector, and I count myself
insanely lucky to have the two I already have.. It seems like a bit of a
waste of all that functionality when all I need is a bit of molded plastic
with a screwed recess on the bottom and two bits of bent metal at the top
(heck, I don't even need any connectors on this thing).

Oh, sure, this would work, though I may as well just plug the TTL cable
into the flash directly.

Right, I'd not thought of that; that's even more overkill, really, but
thanks for the tip, it certainly has more fringe benefits as an alternative
solution than a t20.
