It could be a simple question of a focus ring slipping or that has been
forced in the past. It sounds like you are focussing way beyond infinity
when you reach the stop. Don't know this lens (unfortunately) but on an
85/2 I bought, I had a similar problem.
There, the fix was to remove the rubber focussing ring, place on tripod,
focus to infinity on a very distant target, SLIGHTLY slacken off the 3 or 4
tiny screws on the barrel under the rubber grip, grip the barrel and reset
the infinity mark to the indicator by rotating the now slightly loose
focussing ring, tighten one screw, recheck and readjust if necessary,
tighten all screws when correct. It is a simple fix but fiddly to get it
exactly right.
