[OM] OM2 problem- Help!!

Just wondered if any one has had this problem with their OM2: the
battery check/metering works fine but the mirror locks up when I trip
the shutter. After I reset the shutter, it locks up again.
Been doing this now for 3 days- I am slowly and painfully going round
the bend!
Any suggestions- where can the problem lie?
