I suspect you could get it repaired, I have no idea of the cost. Mirrors for
astronomical telescopes need re-silvering (re-aluminizing?) so I am sure
there are places that could redo the mirror. You might have to find someone
to disassemble it and then reassemble and realign it afterward, though. You
can buy a new 500/8.0 mirror for pretty cheap nowdays... it might not make
sense to buy this and then spend a bunch fixing it.
