The CoC is the diameter of the biggest circle (on film) you'll accept as
"sharp" if you are imaging a point source. For 35mm film a value
0.02-0.03mm is used, and this will define how far out of focus the point
can be and still be considered sharp enough, i.e. the depth of field scale
on Zuikos.
I think the not-so-technical definition of "Circle of Confusion" is the
Ca*on Web Ring...
