Hi,
Well, thanks a lot to all of you!
It seems that my worst gut feeling about this "offer" is true then...:)
O.k., now I know I should at least not buy the book and not pay for the bio
info, then as for having my picture included in the book; maybe I'd better
not do that either...
Actually, when mention was made of the "who is who" book, I remember my
father having received such an offer; I believe he also turned that down.
I guess these are indeed semi-scams: you don't have to pay anything (unless
you want to buy the book and/or have bio info included in it), but you also
don't get any money in return for your work, and the only way to see your
published shot is by buying a very expensive book :/
Oh well, at least I learnt a few things, like what a coffee table book is
exactly :)
Then, thanks too for the nice comments about the picture in question, I
noticed several people asked me for a bigger version of the scan. This can
be found in my personal picture gallery (which is in desperate need of
updates), check the Gallery and then click on "France" at:
http://www.millennics.com/olympus/picture_gallery
Soooo, I guess for now the only place I'm "publishing pictures" will be at
www.millennics.com ;)
Probably the best thing that came out of all this is that you guys have
encouraged me to find a better place to have the picture published,
somewhere in the future (whenever I have enough time to pursue such action)
I will see if I can get it accepted in a "more rewarding" place. Does anyone
have any ideas for that?
Thanks again to all of you!
Cheers!
Olafo
