The Olympus add-on battery pack does let you shoot all day and then some but
the cost is $500 or more. Which NiMH batteries are you using? I tried
some Sanyo 1600s and have been pretty disappointed. GB 1300s are much
better than the Sanyo's.

| I can tell you that with my E-10 and 1800mah NiMH batteries I got 325
photos
| a few weekends back. A total of 572 images were taken that afternoon on
two
| sets of batteries. This was without using flash, no microdrive just a
256CF
| and a 128SM in the camera.
|
| I consider this to be pretty good battery life. Those getting poor
| performance might be making heavy use of the internal flash, or using
| batteries that do not really perform at their rated outputs. Most of my
| flash shots are with the FL-40 so I do not have the drain on the camera.
|
| Somebody asked about an external battery for the E10/E20. Olympus does
have
| a Lithium ION pack that is the same footprint as the camera and makes the
| whole thing about 1.5 inches taller. I do not remember the capacity, but
it
| was pretty big.
