Some of what you're asking for is not possible. Battery consumption has
a direct correlation with image size (pixel depth). Another friend who
has a little Olympus digital had to opt for the optional battery case.
At the CART race at Laguna Seca earlier this month I ran into a friend
who was at the spectator fence. Instead of his usual Canon
something-or-another he had this cute little digital camera that
happened to be an Olympus. Turns out it was a new C-700 and he was
pretty pleased with it overall. He especially liked the 10X optical zoom
range (38-380 35mm equivalent lens I think it had).
A couple days after the event he sent me these (it is a directory so

Two are of me shooting at the corkscrew, one is without me in it. The
little camera seemed to do a pretty nice job and is priced right. Not an
E-10 or -20 but it looks like a good value for a digital point-and-shoot
type camera and it is an Olympus ;-)
