Well for those of us who are grizzled, not to mention "old", it does have a
"P" mode. You can use it like a P & S or if you wish make it shutter or
aperture priority mode, or set both aperture and shutter speed manually. As
I use my OM-2n and 4t in Auto mode most of the time, the Program mode on the
4040 is a familiar way to go. (and the "P" mode can be shut off and it
doesn't come on in the middle of the night)
