I've often wondered the same thing. Because I've been sniped a few
times (usually for only a buck or two), I usually bid late. And
because I don't want to fool around, I usually pay waaaay too much and
without regret (I guess they always see me coming ;-). I try to not bid
on auctions where I see other list members actively in the hunt; because
just when I think I see a once-in-a-lifetime item come up for auction, it
is almost guaranteed that another will be offered within a week if the
first item fetched a good price. Look at the recent offerings of
55/1.2's or 35-70/3.6's.
I would just like to see this little "community" increase its stock,
because my preference would be to trade or buy within the group of list
members and trade/share the experiences, as well.
