Strange that "ex" means "heavy wear" don't you think?

My advice with this outfit is to ignore all of their auctions. With the
high prices, questionable descriptions, and qustionable business practices
it's not worth it. He doesn't sell unobtainable items. When I see negresco
on an auction, I just say, "Oh well, that isn't worth looking at". And I
move on.
As an aside, he is busy. He has 695 auctions underway right now, but only
about 30eem to have bids. That is a concious business practice, pricing
yourself at the top end of a market. For a reputable high-end dealer, I'd
be willing to pay more for an unusual item when I was sure it was checked
out, accurately described, etc. But I don't trust this guy. He's just
another one of those used-car salesman type of camera store operators. His
detailed descriptions seem formula-driven and the item descriptions always
have a ** tag line like *Cute*, *Clean*, *Nice*, *Rare*, etc. He's a
marketer, first and formost. He's not interested in moving a lot of
merchandise.
As for his descriptions, he seems strightforward, if a bit distorted. On
www.photocamera.com, his grading system is as follows:
LN = Like New
Mint = no signs of wear
Mint- = minor wear
ex++ = minor to average wear
ex+ = average to heavy wear
ex = heavy wear
ex- = heavy wear & may need repair
