Hi Martin,
I think 600$ is a little too much for a champagne OM4Ti. Used champagne models
are generally cheaper than the much wanted black model. Technically, is it hard
to find a reason for that.
The german FoMag list (http://www.fotomagazin.de/) contains a lot of used photo
equipment prices based on consumer and shop ads in their magazine, and lists
the champagne model with 1100 DEM (515$) and the black model with 1400 DEM
(656$).
But if it is a particularly mint model, 600$ might still be ok. I just saw a
new OM4Ti black for some 1400$ at a Copenhagen shop (www.kamerahuset.dk).
I can't quite understand why you got the information that the OM4Ti has went
out of production. It's still on Olympus' homepage, such is the OM3Ti and the
OM2000 (the latter for any reason is not available on the Danish homepage).
Regards
Bernd Möller

Subject: [OM] Stop me before I buy again
Once in awhile I stop in this camera store just in case there might be an
Olympus camera or lens that happened to find its way on the shelf...Usually
this particular shop has little or no OM gear...I saw nothing and was about to
leave when the salesman said that he might have something I would be interested
in and brought forth a flawless OM4T in the champagne finish...I checked it out
and doubt if more than a couple of rolls ever went through. According to the
salesman it was traded in on a auto everything camera and said the 4T is no
longer in production although B&H has a OM4Ti listed and current???...The
serial number is 1112222...Would anyone know if this was an early model?...It
was priced at $665. and without me asking he reduced the price to $600...I
pushed away from the counter before I could be swayed anymore as I have (and
use) five OM bodies including a OM4 and the last thing I need is one more (I
think)...I plan to take another look tomorrow and see if they would take a bit
less...If it were a black body I might be hooked.
