I think you're right.
And that reminds me that I must get back to making my own beer. It
costs a fortune to buy tinnies of beer in the UK, certainly compared
with the Netherlands and Germany.
Connection? Well consistency of course between printmaking and beermaking :>).
OM content: be careful not to drop your focussing screen in your beer
when you are trying to see what number it is :>).

I think that the tutor in question is truing to emphasise the importance of
a consistent and accurate technique. Get the basic print right FIRST, and
then experiment with dodging, burning and contrast!
