Tina,

A quick summary of the winders/motors:

Winder 1 - single frame advance only.
Winder 2 - similar to Winder 1 but shoots either single frame or
continuous at about 2.5 FPS

Both the winders use 4 'AA' batteries, or one of the 6V power packs - the
power pack 1 takes 4 'AA' batteries, the power pack 2 takes 4 'D' Cells,
they are useful if you want to put the batteries in your pocket on a cold
day.

Motor Drive 1 - single frame or continuous advance at up to 5 FPS
Motor Drive 2 - like MD1 but heavier, quieter/smoother, supports power
rewind on OM-3(Ti) and OM-4(Ti), and automatic advance to frame 1 on the
OM-2S, OM-PC, OM-3(Ti) and OM-4(Ti).

All of the winders and motors, with the exception of the very earliest
MD1's, have a jack which supports remote shutter release.

If all you want is motorized advance, a Winder 1 is probably your most
economical alternative. You can usually get a Winder 1 or 2 used in the
neighborhood of $100.

Hope this helps,

Paul
