It's what I imagined. Afganistan was a quagmire for the Russians.
A punitive sally will be very hard succeed in. It's not just the
terrain. Attacking terrorists is like attacking mercury. A hammer
blow just spreads it. It needs to be a careful mopping up, across
many borders, with much cooperation from many other countries.
Very hard and not speedy.
