After today's events, I will NEVER again complain and grumble about airport
security...
Not that "better" security is possible in a free society . . . but it is
the very lack of security per se which has allowed the execution of this
plan involving civilian airline flights. I've just completed a round-trip
excursion to Europe, through London, and I was terribly impressed just how
pathetic the so-called security measures are at every airport I passed. All
these security measures do is create lines of honest men. They have
absolutely nothing to do with terrorists and the activities these people
collectively connive at. It's a bad joke and has been from square one.
And why should be that be news?
...and I hope we nuke the hell out of Afganastan, where I'm sure this whole
operation was concocted, and incinerate every last one of those
towel-headed religious fanatics.
As for nuking various peoples, presumably in "measured response" to these
atrocities . . .
. . . while I realize these events have stressed us all, such
strident statements impress me at once as being extreme and unstudied. Any
useful response to these terrorist actions need be systemic in nature. We
fight against ideas, beliefs. Frankly, I wonder if our country's general
public and leadership is up to it--though we're finally gonna find out for
all to see this time unless I miss my bet.

You and I are on the same page there at least.
