Haven't tried the Ilford but I have worked a bit now with the 3200 TMax.
Based on limited use in Spain this summer I'd say it's a great emulsion and
well suited for low-light sports photography. But for that matter I like
the 1600 color Fuji for the same purpose. Print-film technology has come a
significant way from the day when I broke in.

Tris,
Thanks for the comments, but this is my third season shooting in this gym.
I sit right on the sidelines, so close I have to be sure my feet aren't over
the line. I use 800 film, as the 1600 is too grainy.
Tom, have you ever thought of shooting B&W in such a situation? I've
always had a hankerin' to get back to my "indoor available light" days
when I was younger, and I've heard great things about Ilford's Delta
3200. That's two extra stops for you. I think I'm gonna grab me some
rolls of that stuff and start shooting...
