And in the same breath, probably Paul Strand as well, both part of the 291
gallery sponsored by Stieglitz . . . as part of the third list, not as
photojournalists, but as a pair who helped break the mold from the soft
focus secessionist movement and its attempt to immitate paintings to the
sharp focus of reality . . . as an art form in itself and not an immitation
of another (all purely IMHO). Adams had a great admiration for Weston;
Stieglitz for Strand.
