This is not true. Many of us shoot HIE and EIR regularly with our
beloved OMs. I HAVE seen a skyscape that showed the dot pattern of
the back plate, but I believe this was an overexposed shot on HIE
with an opaque filter.
At any rate, I can certainly tell you that shooting HIE with a 25 or
29 filter and shooting EIR with normal red, yellow, green, and orange
filters is no problem with an OM.
