P.S. They trigger nicely (at a pretty good distance) from an infrared

Like you, I got one of Bill's lightning detectors, and there hasn't been a
decent lightning storm here, since. But, I too have "tested" it using
several light sources (like a T32 flash), and it "seems" to work
beautifully.
