There is a good article in the latest Shutterbug Magazine regarding lens
design. The Canon f/0.95 was dismal, but the 50 mm f/1.8 was a very
nice lens. I had one of the old Canon rangefinder 20 years ago, and
they were a nice unit. It had a built-in rapid winder in the base
(hand-powered), similar to Tom Abrahamsson's unit for the M series
Leica.
