You're not being taught to follow the teacher,
but to follow yourself. Shame I had to stop.
The last line is not only the secret of artistic endeavors, it is also the
hardest. Teaching and learning the technical is relatively
easy. Fostering the creation and development of a "vision" for a unique,
individual style is very difficult. The inspiration for it must come from
within the artist. The teacher can only provide indirect encouragement and
advice on how to achieve it technically.
