Sorry about the appearance of my last message...I am not sure what happened.
When I said 'newest' 50/1.8 (#3311875, #5045888 identical), I expect that they
date from the mid 80's. I doubt that Olympus made any changes after that.

Very interesting, since I've never seen these on any other lens, and all my
lenses are MC and most say "Japan" or "Made in Japan." This 65-200 is one
of my oldest lenses, circa 1984, so I doubt it would qualify as a newer
lens.
